OVER THE YEARS, THE RACE HAS HOSTED OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALISTS, AMERICAN RECORD HOLDERS AND MORE FIRST TIME RACE PARTICIPANTS THAN ANY OTHER EVENT IN THE SOUTHWESTERN UNITED STATES.
