- #1 primary $10KLEARNING INVOLVES NURTURING OF KIDS (L.I.N.K.) PROGRAM - SEE SCHEDULE O.LEARNING INVOLVES NURTURING OF KIDS (L.I.N.K.) PROGRAM: THE SECOND SPECIAL PROGRAM IS THE LEARNING INVOLVES NURTURING OF KIDS OR L.I.N.K. PROGRAM, WHICH IS A LICENSED CHILDCARE PROGRAM THAT OFFERS BEFORE SCHOOL CARE AT THE SAHUARITA PRIMARY AND SAHUARITA INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLS CAMPUS, AFTER SCHOOL CARE FROM DISMISSAL TIME UNTIL 5:30PM, AND AN ALL-DAY CHILD-CARE PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AGED 4 YEARS FROM 6:30 AM TO 5:30 PM. A FULL-DAY SUMMER PROGRAM IS GENERALLY OFFERED FROM 6:30 AM TO 5:30 PM. THE MISSION OF LINK IS TO PROVIDE QUALITY CHILDCARE AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE TO AS MANY FAMILIES AS POSSIBLE IN OUR COMMUNITY IN NEED OF CHILDCARE. LINK STRIVES TO CREATE A SAFE AND WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT WITH LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR ALL STUDENTS. TYPICALLY, ABOUT 400 STUDENTS ARE SERVED A YEAR. HOWEVER, ACTIVITIES WERE SOMEWHAT CURTAILED DURING THE PAST YEAR DUE TO COVID-19. FOR EXAMPLE, FIELD OUTINGS WERE NOT PRACTICAL. NEVERTHELESS, LINK CONTINUED TO FUNCTION AS A VALUABLE RESOURCE FOR PARENTS. AN AMOUNT OF $10,062 WAS SPENT ON EXPENDITURES FOR L.I.N.K. DURING THE PAST FISCAL YEAR; A SUBSTANTIAL PORTION OF THE FUNDS WAS USED FOR LICENSE COSTS FOR TWO LINK LOCATIONS. OTHER EXPENSES WERE INCURRED FOR SUPPLIES USED FOR DAILY ACTIVITIES AND SPECIAL PROJECTS.
- #2 $6KTEACHER ASSISTANT PROGRAM - SEE SCHEDULE O.TEACHER ASSISTANT PROGRAM: SEEF UTILIZED $6,000 TO PROVIDE FOUR DISTRICT TEACHERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN A PROGRAM CALLED COMMUNITY SHARES WHICH IS OFFERED BY THE CITY CENTER FOR COLLABORATIVE LEARNING WHICH HAS THE MISSION OF DESIGNING, IMPLEMENTING, AND ADVANCING EXEMPLARY PRACTICES IN TEACHING AND LEARNING THAT TRANSFORM THE LIVES OF YOUNG PEOPLE AND THEIR EDUCATORS. A SMALLER NUMBER OF TEACHERS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SAME PROGRAM DURING THE PRIOR YEAR. AND NOW THE TEACHERS THAT BENEFITTED FROM THE DYNAMIC COMMUNITY SHARES PROGRAM ARE HELPING TO PLAN AND INITIATE A PROGRAM TO BE OFFERED LOCALLY. THE COMMUNITY SHARES PROGRAM ENCOMPASSES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EXPERIENCES FOR EDUCATORS AND EDUCATION ADVOCATES. A SPECIFIC PROGRAM AIM IS TO CONNECT TEACHERS WITH LOCAL COMMUNITY PARTNERS ARTISTS, SCIENTISTS, BUSINESS LEADERS, AND OTHERS WHO ARE EXCITED TO SHARE THEIR "REAL-WORLD" EXPERIENCES WITH STUDENTS IN THE CLASSROOM.
