- #1 primary $103KThe purpose of the Poverty Reduction Taskforce is to build capacity to create healthy neighborhoods by leveraging the power of God and providing opportunities for people to lift themselves out of poverty. 4Tucson's launched the Poverty Reduction Taskforce through Movement Day January 2020. We brought together 18 nonprofit organizations working in the area of direct service to the poor. 4Tucson elevated the need for leaders to come together to reducing poverty in our city. We convened leaders to network, collaborate, ad develop a picture of what a continuum of transformational care would look like in reducing poverty. Finally, our goal was to challenge leaders to move into action to develop transformations change practices. 4Tucson's Poverty Reduction Task Force convened leaders throughout 2020 for training, data collecting, and monitoring progress. 4Tucson is working with other Movement Day cities on similar initiatives including New York, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Hong Kong, Dubai, Sydney, and London.
- #2 $81KThe purpose of the Government Domain is to mobilize Christians to create a culture of community involvement in the political process in our city, state and nation. Hundreds of parents and concerned community members who opposed Tucson Unified School District's new sexuality education prevailed when the board decided not to vote on the proposed curriculum. 4Tucson was instrumental in getting people to sign the petition, give curriculum feedback, contact board members, and attend long school board meetings and hearings. 4Tucson's Government Domain facilitated two bipartisan justice reform forums, informing Christians of the criminal justice reform. 4Tucson Government Domain partnered with Family Research Council and one local church to start a Culture Impact Team. Cultural Impact Teams educates and informs churches about legislative threats, government and cultural infringement on our rights of conscience, freedom of speech and freedom of religion.
