- Animal Shelter Intake and CareOperates the Verde Valley Humane Shelter to take in homeless pets, including strays collected by animal control, owner-surrendered animals, and animals from partner jurisdictions such as the City of Cottonwood, Town of Clarkdale, and Yavapai County. The shelter accepts healthy and adoptable pets based on health and temperament evaluations conducted by an animal behaviorist.
